The verse:
Now Naaman was a captain and a strong and mighty man
Who served the king of Syria, he was his right hand man
But Naaman had a skin disease, it looked like salt and pepper
It was severe and threatening, for Naaman was a leper

A captive maid of Israel did wait on Naaman's wife
And told her of a prophet who could better Naaman's life
The servant girl's belief was strong, her faith she then revealed
If Naaman saw this man of God he surely would be healed

The word got out to Naaman, what the servant maid did know
And the Syrian King did tell to Captain Naaman he should go
A letter he composed and sent a servant for to bring
Along with silver, gold, and raiment gifts for Israel's king.

Then the king read the message that was written in the letter
And then he rent his clothes, saying “Am I God, to make him better?”
He thought the king of Syria was looking for a way
To start an argument with him so they could fight another day

Well Elisha was the prophet and he heard about the clatter
So he asked Naaman to come to him and see about the matter
For the Lord had the power that would surely make him well
Then he'd know God had a prophet in the land of Israel

Then Naaman with his horses and his chariots did come
To the place where lived Elisha where the work of God was done
A messenger came out to him and told him he'd be fine
If in the flowing Jordan river he would wash seven times

Mighty Naaman was insulted that Elijah didn't bring
The message out to him himself, he was a captain of the king
The rivers of Damascus, both Abana and Pharpar
Could wash cleaner than the Jordan, likely cleaner by way far

Bathing seven times, though simple, for a man of Naaman's age
Didn't seem the thing to heal him, and he flew into a rage
Then his servants came unto him and encouraged him to wash
They did not see how his washing there would put him at a loss

“If the prophet bid thee do great things, thou certainly had done it
But now the thing that he commands, you must not now run from it”
So then Naaman thought about it and he then did change his mind
And he went down to the river and he dipped in seven times

His joy did overflow as all his leprosy was cleansed
He realized Elisha's God on Him he could depend
He went to pay the prophet for the services he'd used
While Elisha very firmly the reward he did refuse

Then Gehazi who was standing by, did run to Naamans side
And did ask for the reward that the great prophet had denied
Then Naaman gave him raiment and a sum of talents, two
And Gehazi took them back to ask Elisha what to do

But the prophet wasn't happy that he'd asked for a reward
He knew service for money was displeasing to the Lord
To the people it was common, twas a habit that was rife
But Gehazi became leprous for the rest of his life
